Autodesk Moldflow is a highly specialized tool for simulating the injection molding process. It empowers engineers, analysts, and designers to optimize material selection, process settings, cooling efficiency, to minimize the risk of built in manufacturing flaws (i.e. weld line, air bubbles, built in pre-stress) in the molded parts.
Most FEA software CAD models assume a “flawless” geometry which can cause discrepancy between FEA and actual manufactured component; a proper MOLDFLOW analysis can overcome such discrepancies by meticulously mapping out such built in manufacturing flaws.
